FCC Environmental Services Awarded New Contract for Waste Collection Services in St. Johns County, FL

(St. Johns County, FL, Dec. 21st, 2023) – The Board of County Commissioners of St. Johns County in Florida has selected FCC Environmental Services to oversee Solid Waste Collection Services for the county as of the 1st of August of 2024. 

Expressing heartfelt appreciation for this valuable opportunity, FCC Environmental Services is eager to embark on this new chapter of service for the over 300,000 residents of St. Johns County.  The company remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service delivery. 

In his statement, Iñigo Sanz, CEO of FCC Environmental Services, shared his enthusiasm for the newly acquired contract: “FCC is thrilled to commence services in St. Johns County and as an industry leader, this contract award propels FCC’s market growth in Florida for years to come.  We anticipate a long and mutually beneficial partnership with the County, dedicated to delivering exceptional service to the residents of St. Johns County.”

The initial contract spans 7 years, with the potential for two (2) 5-year extensions, solidifying a lasting commitment between FCC Environmental Services and St. Johns County.  The contract backlog for the initial duration plus extensions is projected to reach $575 million.

In alignment with this significant contract, FCC Environmental Services is dedicated to substantial operational investments.  A planned investment of more than $40 million includes more than 60 state-of-the-art compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles.  This investment not only showcases FCC’s commitment to environmental sustainability, but also underscores its focus on providing innovative solutions to its esteemed clients.
