FCC Environmental Services successfully renews the Houston Biosolids Contract for the second consecutive time, demonstrating a commitment to providing sustainable and effective environmental solutions.

On January 8, 2025, the Houston City Council unanimously awarded FCC Environmental Services a contract to manage all biosolids waste produced by the city’s wastewater treatment system. This contract is set for up to five years and has a total value of up to $50 million. The total investment for these services will be nearly $6 million, and around 20 people will continue to be employed.

FCC will provide these services with a fleet consisting of 23 trucks, 40 end-dump trailers, and 4 vacuum trailers, addressing all the city’s wastewater treatment needs. The treatment facilities serve 2.3 million residents and generate approximately 100,000 tons of waste annually. This achievement marks the second renewal of FCC’s initial municipal contract in the US, awarded ten years ago. It emphasizes the city’s trust in the company’s quality of services.

“FCC Environmental is honored to continue servicing the great City of Houston, and this is not an opportunity that we take for granted,” said Leon Brooks, General Manager of the Houston Bio-solids Services Division. Mr. Brooks has been with FCC since the beginning of the original contract in 2014. FCC is an industry leader providing services in 7 states, with a fleet of more than 1,000 vehicles and a workforce of 2,000 people serving more than 12 million people.
