On January 1, 2025, Johannes Peter Spalek will start his position as CFO of FCC Environmental Services. This will be a key step in enhancing our operations in the U.S. and supports our continued efforts to drive growth and address new challenges in the American market.
Since 2014, Hans has been a key contributor to FCC Servicios Media Ambiente business. As a Member of the Board of FCC ENVIRONMENT CEE and Chief Treasury Officer of the Central and Eastern Europe Platform, he played a pivotal role in the integration of the former ASA Group into FCC Servicios Media Ambiente Holding and supported the growth and consolidation of operations in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. In addition to his responsibilities within top management, which included supporting the strategic direction, oversight, and decision-making processes of group-wide significance, Hans was directly responsible for establishing the CEE countries Finance & Treasury organization from the ground up.
Working closely with the CEE Platform CEO, Hans also oversaw the investment committees of FCC CEE, ensuring robust economic feasibility analyses of proposed transactions. Additionally, he served as a member of the Supervisory Board for seven country organizations, further solidifying his extensive involvement in the Platform governance and strategic development.
Before joining FCC, Hans spent 18 years working as a corporate banker. He led the corporate banking division of Bankia in the CEE region and held senior roles in UniCredit Group across Spain and Portugal.
As Chief Financial Officer of FCC Environmental Services LLC, Hans will be responsible for leading the company’s administrative, financial, and risk management functions. This includes the development and implementation of financial and operational strategies, as well as the design and monitoring of control systems to safeguard company assets, ensure accurate financial reporting and optimize the value creation for the shareholders.
