Minneapolis, MN – April 17, 2025 – FCC Environmental Services has been awarded the contract to operate the South Municipal Solid Waste Transfer Station for the City of Minneapolis. This marks the company’s second contract in Minnesota since entering the state in 2024, reinforcing its commitment to providing sustainable and efficient waste solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, FCC Environmental Services will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the transfer station, as well as the transportation of Construction & Demolition debris (C&D) and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) materials. The contract carries an initial three-year term, with the potential for two one-year extensions. The anticipated commencement date is May 5, 2025.

The initial contract term is valued at $5.0 million, with a potential total backlog of $8.7 million over the full five years. As part of its commitment to operational excellence, FCC Environmental Services will invest approximately $500,000 in new equipment, including three specialized vehicles and 18 brand-new containers. Additionally, the company will hire three local employees dedicated to the operation of the transfer station.
