Our Presence
FCC Environmental Services is proud to operate two major WtE facilities across the Florida state:
Broward Waste-to-Energy Facility (Owned & Operated)
Located in Fort Lauderdale, this state-of-the-art facility converts approximately 2,250 tons of waste per day into clean, renewable energy. The facility provides electricity to more than 36,000 homes, recovers ~20,000 tons of metal for recycling annually, and serves as FCC’s flagship U.S. Waste-to-Energy operation. Pinellas County Waste-to-Energy Facility (Operated in Partnership)
Under a 10-year agreement with Pinellas County Government, FCC Environmental Services operates and manages the County’s WtE Facility — one of Florida’s largest and most advanced energy recovery plants. The facility processes 2,700 tons of waste daily, powers 67,000 homes, and recovers 30,000 tons of metal annually for recycling.

Commitment to Sustainable Energy Solutions
FCC Environment, one of four business platforms backed by FCCenviro, is a leader in WtE, operating seven Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities that collectively generate 132 megawatts (MW) of energy. These facilities process non-recyclable waste into electricity and heat, contributing to the UK’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2040.
Safety, innovation, and sustainability guide every aspect of our Waste-to-Energy operations. We’re dedicated to reducing emissions, protecting natural resources, and supporting circular economy principles that return value to the communities we serve.
