Waste to Energy

Working Responsibly Today for a Better Environment Tomorrow

Transforming Waste into Sustainable Energy Solutions.

Introduction to Waste to Energy

Waste to Energy (WtE) is an innovative process that converts non-recyclable waste into usable energy, such as electricity or heat. By reducing landfill use and harnessing renewable power, WtE offers a sustainable solution to modern waste management challenges. FCC Environmental Services is proud to be at the forefront of this technology, bringing decades of global expertise to the table.

Benefits of Waste to Energy

WtE delivers significant environmental and operational advantages:

  • Waste Reduction: Diverts up to 90% of non-recyclable waste from landfills.
  • Energy Generation: Produces renewable energy to power homes and businesses.
  • Resource Conservation: Minimizes reliance on fossil fuels, supporting a cleaner future.

These benefits make WtE a critical component of sustainable waste management worldwide.

EXPERIENCE

FCC Environment, a division of FCC Group, is a leader in WtE, operating seven Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities that collectively generate 132 megawatts (MW) of energy. These facilities process non-recyclable waste into electricity and heat, contributing to the UK’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2040.
